What is a Partial hair prosthesis?  Sometimes referred to as “Volumizers” are small, light and very discreet units that only cover a portion of the head. Best suited for women that have partial or isolated hair loss. Partials can also be used to simply thicken or accessorize your existing hair.

What is a Full wig? They are full caps that cover the entire head, best suited for women who have abundant on generalized hair loss. Wigs can also be used to simply accessorize your existing hair.

 

Fabrication:

Custom made Partials or Wigs are popular choices and answer to our clients’ specific needs.
Here we make a template (mold) of the area that needs hair to obtain the perfect diameter and fit. Then we order detailed specifications such as Hair Color (highlight) –Density –Direction (part) -Length and Texture (European-Indian-Asian). All lengths, colours, textures, densities, shapes, sizes and hair quality can be ordered; the world is your oyster!

Ready-to-wear Partials or Wigs are available for less specific requirements.
Here we choose a Partial or a Wig from a variety of ready-available hair prostheses and choose one that resembles your existing (or pre-existing) hair. Your new hair will be blended to yours; cut and styled to create the look you want. Many lengths, colours, textures, densities and sizes are available.

Human Hair provided to make most hair prostheses originates from Europe, India or Asia. Natural hair is maintained in a very similar fashion to your own. Heat sources such as hair dryers, curling irons can be used. Human hair prostheses are usually more costly but more durable, often purchased by those who prefer a longer hair style and want to have more of a natural flow.

Synthetic hair is a man-made fiber that imitates human hair but sources of heat such as hair dryers and irons may not be used. Prostheses made of synthetic hair are usually less costly but less durable, often purchased by those who prefer a shorter look and want their hair to preserve its original style and color.

3-How natural does the hair replacement look?
Recent techniques allow a completely natural look.  Remember that we only detect hair systems that are not well suited to the individual. Prostheses today are made of ultra fine monofilament and singly injected hair providing a gradual and unnoticeable transition.

4-What types of hair exist?
Most clients choose a wig or partial composed of human hair.  Styling & setting methods resemble the ones you would use doing you own hair.

Others prefer synthetic hair. This type of hair will maintain its original style longer than human hair will.  However, it will not tolerate heat (hair dryers or curling irons) and chemical processing (perms or dyes) will be ineffective. Even-though there are special techniques available to curl (steam) and color (ventilate) synthetic hair; it is more difficult to change its original style.

5-How are they attached to our head?
There are many methods of attachment; these are divided into two categories: Semi-permanent and Temporary.
Here are some of the most popular:

• Bonding: This is medical grade silicone base glue specially made for the skin. This Semi-permanent method stays firmly in place 24/7 and requires periodical adjustments.
• Micro-links:  These are miniature clasps, firmly fastened to your existing hair, onto which we attach the prosthesis. This Semi-permanent method stays firmly in place 24/7 and requires periodical adjustments.
• Adhesives: This is two sided medical grade clear tape that affixes to the inside of the hair prosthesis.  This tape is specially made to adhere to skin and you can change the tape yourself each time you wear the prosthesis. This is a Temporary method.
• Comb clips: These are small clips that are permanently fastened to the inside of the hair prosthesis. These clips press open-and-shut and grip onto your natural hair. This is a Temporary method.

6-Are these attachments resistant enough for an active lifestyle?  For example: During sports or while swimming?
Yes, Semi-permanent methods will respond to the demands of the most active lifestyles.

7-Are there any risks in damaging the scalp or preventing re-growth of the existing hair?
No. Prostheses are made with thin, weightless materials that let your scalp breathe normally. 

8-How much does a hair prosthesis cost?  How often should it be replaced?
